Graphical editor - Globals panel
The Globals panel gathers everything that applies to the whole scenario, independently from the rooms.
Variables
Three kinds of global variables:
- Numeric (
vars:) - integers and floats, changed and compared inside 997 events - Text (
text_vars:) - character strings - Online (
online_vars:) - kept between games and servers, with the_osuffix
For each variable:
| Field | Role |
|---|---|
| Name | Identifier, with no space and no reserved sequence v_, _v, t_, _t, o_, _o |
| Initial value | A number, a text, or a random expression |
| Description | Shown when the player inspects the variable |
The reserved sequences matter: they are the delimiters the engine uses to find a variable inside a text. A name such as hp_victor would break, because the _v of “victor” is read as a closing delimiter.
Global events
Global events are checked automatically on every player action, in every room.
Each global event has:
- an identifier, which
trigger_event:idcan point to - an
if:condition, which may benullto stay always active do:actions, a list of actions to run- a text, the message shown (optional)
Global timers
Global timers run for the whole game, independently from the current room. See Timers and HUD for the details.
Global aliases
Global aliases let the player reach certain rooms from anywhere with the go alias command. They also appear as permanent reactions on Discord.
Global actions
Custom actions available in every room, completing the local actions defined room by room.
